Vendor error hits ballots in 9 Champaign County precincts

28 voters had already cast incorrect ballots; 607 mail voters will get replacements. Federal, state and countywide races weren’t affected.

The Champaign County Clerk said Monday a vendor error affected ballots in nine precincts — Champaign 6, 29 and 37, Hensley, Pesotum, Philo, Sidney, St. Joe 1 and Urbana 3 — WAND reports. An investigation found 28 voters had already cast incorrect ballots.

The clerk’s office will send replacement ballots to 607 vote-by-mail voters. No federal, statewide, congressional, judicial or countywide races were affected. Questions: 217-384-3724 or [email protected].
