The University of Illinois Springfield hosts an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in the Student Union, 2251 Richard Wright Drive, NPR Illinois reports. Visitors can take campus and residence hall tours, browse an academic fair and attend sessions on transferring credits, paying for college, student support and applying.

Families can also learn about the UIS Prairie Promise, which covers tuition and mandatory fees for qualified Illinois first-year and transfer students with financial need. Register at uis.edu/visit.
