Police link a string of overnight south city break-ins
St. Louis Metropolitan Police detectives believe one person is behind four burglaries and at least one attempted burglary between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4 in the Soulard, Compton Heights, Shaw and Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhoods, FOX 2 reports. The break-ins happened between 1 and 4 a.m.; in at least two, the suspect entered while residents slept, and a car stolen in another was later recovered.
Police linked the cases using doorbell-camera images. They urge residents to lock doors and windows and to call 911 — not confront — anyone seen looking into homes.
