IHSA Week 8 outlook: Rochester, SHG among area clinchers

Unbeaten Rochester (7–0) hosts SHG (6–1) Friday; Williamsville, Glenwood, Jacksonville, Taylorville and PORTA also listed as clinched.

The IHSA’s fourth 2026 playoff outlook, compiled by the Peoria Journal Star, lists 248 teams with clinching records. Area entries include Rochester (7–0) and Sacred Heart-Griffin (6–1), both marked as conference champs in the hypothetical Class 4A list, along with Jacksonville (6–1), Taylorville (5–2), Williamsville (6–1, 3A), Petersburg PORTA (4–3, 3A) and Chatham Glenwood (4–3, 6A).
