Family of Heyworth man killed at Rivian logistics center files wrongful-death suit

Kevin Lancaster, 61, was pinned by a backing tractor-trailer at a loading dock in March, the lawsuit says.

The family of Kevin Lancaster, a 61-year-old Heyworth man killed March 5 at a Rivian logistics center in Normal Township, has sued for negligence in McLean County, WGLT reports. The complaint says Lancaster was on a break near a loading-dock door when a tractor-trailer backing into the dock pinned him for about 20 minutes; he later died at Carle BroMenn Medical Center.

The suit names five entities tied to transport company G&D Integrated, three Rivian entities and an individual. Lancaster worked for a party not named in the lawsuit; the logistics center, near Kerrick Road and U.S. 51, is separate from Rivian’s production plant.
