Cardinals add RHP Brian Curley to finish Nootbaar trade

Class AA starter from Arizona arrives as the player to be named; offseason focus stays on the rebuild.

The Cardinals completed their August trade of Lars Nootbaar to Arizona by acquiring Class AA right-hander Brian Curley, the Post-Dispatch’s Derrick Goold reports. Curley’s strong late-season playoff start helped Amarillo reach the Texas League championship against the Cardinals’ own Double-A affiliate, the Springfield (Mo.) Cardinals.
