Bulls set four starters; Claxton out at least two weeks before preseason opener

Giddey, Powell, Buzelis and rookie Caleb Wilson start Wednesday vs. Phoenix at the United Center.

Coach Tiago Splitter said Josh Giddey, Norman Powell, Matas Buzelis and No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson will start Wednesday’s preseason opener against the Phoenix Suns at the United Center (7 p.m. CT), with a big man to be named, Bulls On SI reports.

Expected starting center Nic Claxton has a hamstring injury that will sideline him at least two weeks, with a reevaluation set for Oct. 19 — two days before the Oct. 21 season opener against Toronto. Zach Collins has a quad injury, leaving Jalen Smith as the likely preseason starter.
