Police found the boy shot in the head inside a home on East 99th Street; no one is in custody.

A 4-year-old boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the head Tuesday afternoon in South Deering, the Sun-Times reports. Officers responded at 4:01 p.m. to a residence in the 2200 block of East 99th Street.

No one was in custody, and police were investigating. Separately, three people — ages 17, 18 and 24 — were wounded early Wednesday when someone in a black SUV opened fire at a West Pullman gas station in the 11600 block of South Michigan Avenue; all were in fair condition.
