Blackhawks blow two leads, fall 4–3 in Buffalo

Jiri Kulich’s late goal sinks Chicago (0–3–0) to end the opening road trip; Blues visit the United Center Tuesday.

The Blackhawks led 2–0 and 3–2 Saturday night but lost 4–3 to the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo’s home opener, NHL.com and the AP report. Jiri Kulich scored the winner with 6:40 left — his first goal in nearly a year after blood-clot issues.

Ryan Donato, Tyler Bertuzzi and Oliver Moore scored for Chicago, and Spencer Knight made 24 saves as the Hawks fell to 0–3–0 on their season-opening road trip. Chicago’s home opener is Tuesday, Oct. 6, against the St. Louis Blues (7 p.m. CT per ESPN’s schedule).
