Sangamon County’s new hotel/motel tax is live, supposedly to help expand the Bank of Springfield Center. Fine. I’ll pay my share when I overnight somewhere.
What I want is the part that actually shows up on Monroe and Sixth — lights on, doors open, a Tuesday that doesn’t feel like a Sunday. Until then I’m filing this under “promise receipts.”
